What is wrong?
When we stop and think about it we know something is wrong. Wars, suffering, pain and death all don't sit right with us, we instinctively know that it shouldn't be like this. It's as if we long for, as if we were made for, something different.
The Bible says that is because we were designed to live differently. But our rejection of God, and his guidelines on how to live in a way that is best for us, condemns us to live in a world where the consequences of this are seen all around us. The Bible says the human heart is the root of the problem, we want things our way, to determine right and wrong for ourselves instead of listening to God. The result is the mess we see around us globally and in our own lives.
Our rejection of God has consequences now and in the future, one day we will have to give an account to God of how we have lived. Grace is God's answer to the problem that poses for us.
